Runnymede Campus: Community Planning Process

Community Planning Weekend

Friday 12 October, 2.00pm - 7.30pm
Saturday 13 October, 11.00am - 4.00pm

You are invited to the Runnymede Campus Community Planning Weekend to be held on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 October 2007 in the Pillar Hall, Runnymede Campus. The aim of the weekend is to bring together local people and stakeholders to create a vision for the site, and consider its relationship to the landscape that surrounds it and to Englefield Green.

Oracle, the developer of the site, has committed to bringing forward a quality scheme that is sympathetic to and in keeping with the heritage of Runnymede Campus and its sensitive location. We envisage that the scheme will be a ‘mixed-use’ development and could include the following elements:

  • private residential accommodation;
  • student accommodation;
  • community and leisure buildings and
  • commercial buildings.

The Community Planning Weekend is a key stage in the development of a scheme for the site and an opportunity for everyone with an interest in Runnymede Campus to have their say. The weekend will be facilitated by John Thompson and Partners (JTP), architects, urban designers and community planners, on behalf of Oracle.

The programme for the weekend is structured so that people can attend for a short while or for longer according to their interest. The workshops and hands-on planning groups will be tailored to both young people and adults and will examine local people’s concerns and aspirations both for Englefield Green and for the site.

Don’t forget the Report Back. The weekend will conclude with a ‘Report Back’ session at 7.30pm on Tuesday 16 October in the Pillar Hall, Runnymede Campus, which will draw together the issues raised by local residents in an illustrated vision for the site.

COME AND HAVE YOUR SAY!
